Personal Information You Provide:
- Name: Used for personalized greetings and display within the App.
- Birth Date and Time: Used to calculate your astrological natal chart. This is the core function of the App.
- Birth Location (City): Geographic coordinates are derived from your birth city to calculate house positions in your natal chart.
- Gender Identity: Used to personalize guidance and content presentation.
- Relationship Status: Used to tailor relationship-related astrological insights.
- Email Address: Optional and used for account creation, authentication, and data persistence across devices.
- Pulse Check Inputs: Energy, Focus, and Mood values you voluntarily submit so the App can personalize daily guidance in real time.
Data Collected Automatically:
- Device and Usage Information: We may receive limited technical and diagnostics information such as device type, app version, basic service logs, and product analytics events to maintain and improve the App.
How We Use Your Information
- Natal Chart Calculation: Birth data is used to calculate your astrological positions using the Swiss Ephemeris astronomical library.
- Personalized Guidance: Your natal chart data and Pulse Check inputs are used to generate daily guidance tailored to you. Draconic Sun and numerology properties may also be calculated for profile features when enough profile data is available.
- AI Processing: We send structured chart and Pulse Check inputs to our AI service provider to generate personalized spiritual guidance inside the App.
- Account Management: Email is used for authentication and syncing data across devices.
- Analytics and Reliability: Product analytics and technical logs help us improve the App's features, performance, and stability.
Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored securely in our database hosted on Supabase (PostgreSQL), which provides encryption at rest and in transit.
- We use industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information.
- Your data is not stored on the device beyond what is needed for offline functionality.
Data Sharing
We do not:
- Sell your personal information to third parties.
- Share your birth data or personal information with advertisers.
- Use your data for purposes unrelated to the App's core functionality.
We may share data with:
- Supabase: Our database and authentication provider.
- Render: Our backend hosting provider.
- Anthropic: Our AI service provider, which processes structured inputs so we can generate personalized guidance.
- PostHog: Our product analytics provider.
- Google Places API: Used to help you search for your birth city during onboarding.
- Law Enforcement: Only when required by law or valid legal process.

AstraKarma is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
